Karlovic starts strong in Vienna

Ivo Karlovic defeated Andreas Seppi 2-0 (7-6, 6-3) and qualify for the second round of Austrian Erstebank Open. The Italian saved four tie-breaks balls in the first set, only to fall dawn at the tie break when Karlovic took advantage and sealed the set.

At the begging of the second set, the Croatian defended the first tie-break ball, and then overturn Sappi’s set into 3-2 lead. After that point, the Italian hadn`t any chance against the “Ace man”.


The record holder Karlovic served 17 aces which took his tally to 10,306 aces in his carrier.
In the second round he`ll meet winner from Stahovskij – Struff clash.

Radek Stepanek -Dennis Novak 6-4, 6-3,
Lukas Rosol- Yuichi Sugita 6-4, 7-6 (2).
